THE DAVID BELLAMY CONSERVATION AWARD SCHEME
We take a special pride in helping guests and visitors to come closer to the countryside which is the reason we decided to get involved with the David Bellamy Conservation Award Scheme and we are delighted to have been judged and awarded a Gold Award for the 6th consecutive year.
The result, we hope, is an environment in which flora and fauna can flourish and where our customers can appreciate and enjoy all that nature has to offer.
What does it take to win?
David Bellamy Conservation Awards are made each year to parks which can demonstrate policies showing active concern for the environment. Parks wishing to enter for a David Bellamy award must first complete a detailed questionnaire describing what positive conservation steps they have taken. Next, the park must receive an independent endorsement form a local wildlife or conservation body which is familiar with the area – and distribute special questionnaire postcards to customers which are returned directly to Professor Bellamy to help with his assessment of the awards.
For further information on the scheme and to keep up to date with what we have achieved feel free to visit our Display which is adjacent to the Office in the reception building.
